Dated 10 July 1984, about the applicability of the disinfectant RIWO - SAN TR - 50

The test were conducted according to the regulation of the German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology regarding the examination and valuation of the effectiveness of chemical disinfectants.

Concentration of the RIWO - SAN TR - 50 solution used: 1 % and 2 %

(the commercial system RIWO - SAN TR - 50 at disposal was found to be 100 %)

Surface Disinfection: According to the test results at issue, as an application concentration of 2 % does RIWO - SAN TR - 50 contain the necessary properties required of an agent used for surface disinfection. The application concentration of 1 % also shows definite germ reduction, but requieres a longer action time. With this concentration an almost 100 % sterility will be achieved after 4 hours.

RIWO - SAN TR - 50 is suitable for surface disinfection. An application cancentration of 2 % is suggested. No caustic properties were to be noticed in this concentration.

Laundry Disinfection: Based an the test conducted, RIWO - SAN TR - 50 is found to be suitable for laundry disinfection. The effectiveness of a 2 % solution equals a 1 % phenol solution. As an agent is suitable for laundry disinfection when the test germs on the germ carriers are sterilized at 12 degrees Celcius after no longer than 12 hours, then RIWO - SAN TR - 50 is effective for laundry disinfection in concentration of 1 % and 2 %.
